Roma Holds On to Its Stars Despite UEFA Sanctions Risk
Roma Club prefers to retain its stars during the summer transfer window, even if it has to pay a fine to UEFA for not complying with financial fair play rules.
The newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' reported that the club's management is considering not selling any of its prominent players before June 30, the deadline for complying with the settlement agreement with UEFA.
The report indicated that Matias Soule was the most likely candidate to leave, while both Manu Koné, Evan Ndicka, and Mile Svilar also received offers, but Roma does not want to weaken its squad.
The newspaper added that coach Gian Piero Gasperini pressed to maintain the core of the team, relying on other income sources to reduce the financial deficit.
The report confirmed that the Friedkin family is prepared to bear the UEFA fine, with confidence in the club's revenue increasing next season thanks to participation in the Champions League and commercial opportunities related to the club's centennial celebration.
