Ceballos Nearing Return to Real Betis After Leaving Real Madrid

Saturday 27-06-2026
Dani Ceballos is close to returning to Real Betis during the summer transfer window, having officially ended his association with Real Madrid, making him a free agent able to sign with any club.

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Ceballos has not yet entered into official negotiations with Real Betis, but he has had several communications in the past period with the sporting director, Mano Fajardo, as well as Joaquin Sanchez, the club's current advisor and his former teammate, where the two parties discussed the necessary conditions to complete the deal.

The newspaper explained that Betis officials informed the player some time ago that his return first required obtaining a free release from Real Madrid, which has indeed been achieved. Additionally, he must agree to a significant reduction in his annual salary, which is close to 10 million euros, in exchange for signing a contract that extends for four or five years.

The newspaper added that Ceballos has become fully aware of the offer that Real Betis will present and intends to accept it, which explains his decision to terminate his contract with Real Madrid, despite having other offers.

The report indicated that Ajax Amsterdam recently made an offer worth 6 million euros to acquire the player's services from Real Madrid. However, Ceballos preferred to wait for the opportunity to return to Real Betis, the club he wishes to play for again.
