Real Madrid apply pressure on Barcelona with valuable win over Valencia

Real Madrid secured a big win against Valencia with three goals to nil in the match that took place on Saturday evening at the Mestalla Stadium, as part of the 12th round of LaLiga, continuing to apply pressure on FC Barcelona in the title race.

Federico Valverde opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 28th minute, after the ball reached him from a direct free kick taken by Kylian Mbappé that deflected off a Valencia defender. The Uruguayan midfielder unleashed a powerful shot from outside the penalty area that found the back of the net.

Arda Güler doubled the visitors' lead with a goal in the 36th minute, after the ball reached Jude Bellingham, who sent in a cross that Valencia's defense tried to clear, but it ended up in front of the Turkish star, who did not hesitate to shoot it into the net.

Kylian Mbappé scored the third goal in the 75th minute, benefiting from a brilliant pass from Arda Güler, before their task became even more complicated following the red card shown to José Gayà for his foul on Mbappé, increasing the suffering of the home side.

With this result, Real Madrid have raised their tally to 30 points in second place temporarily, equal with leaders FC Barcelona, who are playing their match against Atlético tomorrow, while Valencia remain on 9 points in nineteenth place.
