Bastoni Returns to Real Madrid's Circle of Interest Amid Negotiations with Inter Milan
Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni has returned to Real Madrid's list of interests during the summer transfer window, after his name had been linked to the club weeks ago and then the talk about him subsided, before reappearing in Italian reports.
The Italian newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' reported that Bastoni, 27, has come back to the forefront within Real Madrid, as the Inter Milan defender is among the names being considered by the club's management to strengthen the defense line for the next season.
The newspaper added that officials from Real Madrid and Inter Milan held talks about the player over the past weekend, on the sidelines of the teams' encounter in the Corazon Classic Match, where the transfer market and mutual interests between the two clubs were discussed.
According to the same source, Inter Milan sets a financial value of up to 70 million euros to part with their defender, with the possibility of him leaving for around 60 million euros if a suitable agreement is reached between the concerned parties.
The report also indicated that the final say in the deal will belong to coach Mourinho, who wishes to strengthen the defense line by signing a new defender alongside Ibrahima Konate, making Bastoni one of the options available to Real Madrid during the current transfer period.
