The report indicated that Barcelona does not want to lose complete control over the player's future and seeks to include a buy-back clause or a percentage of any future sale, anticipating an increase in his value or his transfer to a rival club.

These developments came after Barcelona signed Anthony Gordon, which reinforced Ansu Fati's belief in the difficulty of continuing with the team, especially as he is out of coach Hans Flick's plans despite his contract extending until the summer of 2028.

The same source added that the delay in completing the deal may also be linked to Barcelona's desire to wait for a higher financial offer, while the club continues to work on reorganizing its ranks in preparation for the next season, with its ongoing pursuit of signing a new striker.
