Palestine Settles on Two Friendlies in Kyrgyzstan in June

Wednesday 20-05-2026
The Palestinian national team will play two friendly matches during the international break next June, against the national teams of Kenya and Kyrgyzstan in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek. This comes after the previous plan included facing the national team of Tajikistan and possibly India in Dushanbe.

The Indian Football Federation informed its clubs last week that the Indian national team would travel to Dushanbe to face Palestine on June 6. Several sources confirmed that a friendly match against Tajikistan on June 1 had already been agreed upon, which seemed logical logistically, with both matches taking place in the same city.

However, the Palestinian Football Association did not officially announce either of the matches, before the Kenyan federation later revealed that its national team would face Palestine on June 6 in Bishkek instead of India. The Kyrgyz federation also announced a friendly match against Palestine on June 9.

According to the latest update, coach Ihab Abu Jazar wanted to keep the match against Tajikistan on June 1, but the Tajik federation requested a commitment to play both matches together, which led Palestine to cancel the trip to Dushanbe and settle for matches against Kenya and Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek, following an extended training camp starting next Saturday and continuing until June 2.
