Football Returns to West Bank After Three-Year Hiatus
The Palestinian Football Association announced today that official sports activities in the West Bank will resume starting September, following a three-year halt due to war conditions. This marks the beginning of a gradual return to local competitions.
The association clarified that the return will feature an exceptional activity league, without promotion and relegation, open to all clubs wishing to participate. The tournament's mechanism and system will be officially announced in the coming period, with expectations for regional competitions covering the northern, central, and southern areas.
The Palestinian Football Association emphasized that this step is a precursor to the full launch of the Professional League and other official competitions next year, as part of a plan aimed at reviving Palestinian football activities and restoring regular local competitions.
