Barcelona Awaits Club Brugge's Response on Signing Bessie
Barcelona is awaiting a response from Club Brugge regarding the offer made to sign the young Belgian winger Jesse Pessio, amid advanced moves by the sports management to finalize the deal.
The 18-year-old Bissou is considered one of the most highly regarded talents within Barcelona. The club initiated contact with Bruges after closely monitoring the player and preparing technical reports on him, before making an official offer through his agents, according to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo."
The player's contract with Brugge extends until 2027, while Barcelona has made progress towards reaching an agreement with the player, who has expressed his desire to wear the team's jersey starting next season. João Amaral is overseeing the matter alongside the sports management.
Barcelona intends to apply the same approach it previously used when signing Roni Bardji, by paying a low transfer fee due to the player's contract nearing its end, and offering him a contract with the reserve team, with a plan to gradually integrate him into the first team.
In January, Deco traveled to Belgium with Amaral to begin negotiations with Club Brugge's sporting director, Davy Rege. Later, the player's agent confirmed there was interest from Barcelona.
The Catalan club also intensified its monitoring of the player by sending scouts to attend the semi-final and final matches of the Youth League in Lausanne, to observe him closely.
Despite Bruges' initial hesitation to sell the player, the fact that he has only one year left on his contract, along with his desire to leave, may expedite the completion of the deal.
