The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" had previously indicated that Peña decided not to join the preparation period with Barcelona on July 13, after returning from a loan with Elche, as he is looking for an experience outside the Spanish league.
Bennia's contract with Barcelona extends until June 2029, but the player is no longer part of the plans of the German coach Hans Flick, prompting him to expedite the decision regarding his future during the current period.
