A Final Step Separates Ansu Fati from Moving to Monaco

Ansu Fati is close to joining Monaco, after both parties reached a full agreement on the contract, with only a final tax procedure remaining to be resolved early next week.

The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that this measure will not affect the completion of the deal, as Barcelona aims to finalize the matter before the end of the current fiscal year on June 30.

The newspaper added that Barcelona's signing of Anthony Gordon convinced Ansu Fati of the difficulty of getting an opportunity to play, which strengthened his desire to continue his career with Monaco.

The French club had informed Barcelona since last April of its desire to pay the release clause amounting to 11 million euros, before the parties reached a final agreement.

The newspaper also indicated that the player preferred to sign a four-season contract until 2030, instead of the contract that Monaco wanted to extend until 2031.
