Hector Fort Plans to Convince Flick and Stay with Barcelona

Saturday 20-06-2026
Spanish player Hector Fort, a young Barcelona club member, decided to postpone the offers he received from several European clubs, preferring to focus on trying to convince the German coach Hans Flick during the summer preparation period in order to secure a place for himself in the first team.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that Fort, who will return from a loan to Elche, will begin preparations for the new season with Barcelona starting from July 13 at the Joan Gamper sports city, as part of the list of players called up for the preparation period.

The player will also participate in the external camp that will be held in England from July 27 to August 3 at the St. George's Park facilities, with a final decision on his future to be made after the preparation period ends.

Fort faces strong competition for the right-back position within the team, with the presence of Jules Koundé and Eric Garcia, in addition to other options within the squad, making his task of securing a primary position difficult.

Despite this, the 19-year-old insists on continuing and trying to prove himself, relying on his desire to stay within the club where he grew up since the youth categories, with an understanding of the importance of developing his defensive side.

In case he does not succeed in convincing the technical staff, several European clubs are monitoring his situation, most notably AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen, but the player's current priority remains to stay with Barcelona.
