Al Ahly Nears Conclusion of Renewing Contracts for El Shahat and Kouka
Wednesday 06-05-2026
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir revealed new developments within Al Ahly Club concerning the renewal of contracts for the duo Hussein El Shahat and Ahmed Nabil Kouka, as their contracts with the Red team are nearing expiration.

The two players are under contract until the end of the current season, which gives them the right to sign with any other club for free after Al Ahly's last match in the Premier League.

During his radio program on Wednesday morning, Shobeir explained that there is an important development within the club, as a meeting is being held today involving Sayed Abdel Hafeez and Walid Salah with Hussein El Shahat, and it may witness the announcement of the renewal of his contract in the coming hours.

He added that the Shahat file is on the verge of being finalized, noting that if the agreement is not completed today, it is expected to be concluded in the coming days, as the negotiations have reached very advanced stages.

He pointed out that Al Ahly will then move on to address the case of Ahmed Nabil Kouka, who will miss the next match due to suspension after receiving his third yellow card, despite delivering outstanding performances in the last two games.

Shobeir discussed the player's international future, explaining that Koka is a candidate to be included in the national team roster for the 2026 World Cup, given that coach Hossam Hassan is impressed with his abilities. Meanwhile, he noted that the chances of El Shahat joining the national team seem lower at the present time.

He concluded his statements by confirming that Al Ahly's management will begin in the coming days to systematically complete the Koka file, after finishing the El Shahat file. He pointed out that the player is flexible in negotiations, with a keen interest in securing his future in the final stage of his football career.

He added that the financial demands of players have become normal given the changes in life, emphasizing that every profession has its own circumstances that govern it at present.
