Mostafa Shobeir, the goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team, expressed his great happiness after Egypt qualified for the round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup.

The Egyptian national team drew 1-1 with Iran in the third round of the group stage of the tournament, earning Egypt one point and raising their total to 5 points, securing second place and qualifying for the round of 32 as the group's runner-up.

Shobeir said during his statements on "beIN Sports" channel: "I extend my congratulations to my family on the occasion of Egypt's draw with Iran and securing qualification to the round of 32 in the World Cup."

The Pharaohs' goalkeeper added: "We went through very difficult moments, even though we studied Iran's strengths well and knew they were a very strong opponent, especially in aerial plays."

He continued: "The last 5 minutes of the match between Egypt and Iran were extremely difficult due to the offensive pressure from the opponent, and we were also unaware of the results of the other teams."

Shobier continued: "We are completely satisfied with what we have achieved and the results and performance we delivered in the 2026 World Cup competitions."
