Imam Ashour's Position on Staying with Al Ahly
The media personality Amir Hisham revealed the position of Imam Ashour and Mostafa Shobeir, the Al-Ahly duo, regarding staying with the Reds and not leaving the club.
He said on his program "Modern Sports" on the Modern MT channel: "Imam Ashour's position is clear; he wants to continue his career and renew with the club. He will be approached regarding the extension immediately after the World Cup. If he receives official offers with substantial financial amounts, they will be considered. However, Al Ahly is very inclined to extend the player's contract."
He added, "Regarding the case of Mostafa Shobier, the goalkeeper for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team who excelled in the 2026 World Cup, the club has not received any offers to sign him at all. Some are trying to promote this idea, which is not true."
He clarified: "Shobeir's position is that he sees no problem at all in continuing his career, with one season remaining on his contract. However, if he receives an offer from a major European league (the top five leagues) or from one of the good European leagues, he will ask the club to agree to his professional move."
He added, "If a special offer does not come for Mostafa Shobeir, he would not mind extending his contract with Al Ahly Club."
