Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, expressed his anger about the refereeing decisions during his team's match against Atletico Madrid, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Metropolitano Stadium, as part of the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

Arteta said: "I am very angry about how the other penalty was not awarded, it couldn't be clearer than that."

He continued: "It was a great honor to play here, the atmosphere was fantastic and the energy was high, we had chances, but we didn't start the second half well, and we allowed them to improve, we knew the match would be difficult, but we are disappointed because the penalty was not awarded."

He added: "I am very angry about the way that play was not counted, it is very clear, just like in other cases, it's a clear penalty."

Speaking about video technology, he said: "That's their job, whether the decision was made this way or another, I am only evaluating the moment and what happened in it."

Regarding the impact of the decisions on the team, he said: "We are at this stage, and things are constantly changing, we have invested a lot, and these things should not happen."

He continued his statements, saying: "The play is clear, but it was not counted, and this is something for the club to make the right decision about."

About the team's performance, he said: "We had good moments, but the start of the second half was not good, especially the last 15 to 20 minutes where we weren't at the required level."

The Arsenal coach continued his talk: "Here at the Metropolitano Stadium you have to suffer, many teams have suffered here, including some of the best teams in the world, we had some good moments in the game and moments where we had to suffer, and the margins are very small."

He added: "We are in a great position in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League, we have to play in front of our fans, and it's in our hands."

He concluded: "We had a lot of positives and a lot of good things, we went through very positive moments, and we knew we would go through strong moments, this team's record at home is amazing, so we knew we would face that."
