Thursday 30-04-2026
Antoine Griezmann, Atletico Madrid player, spoke after the draw with Arsenal in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals at the Metropolitano Stadium, confirming that the team performed better in the second half despite the difficulty of the match.

Griezmann said: "The second half was much better in terms of intensity and pressure. This is the way to continue in the second leg. It will be a beautiful match to play, whether for those on the field or at home to experience the difficulty, but this is the beauty of football."

The Atletico Madrid player continued his talk about the first half goal, saying: "Conceding a goal at the end of the first half hurts. We made two or three tactical adjustments to press better and move with balance, and that was the difference. Then the support of our fans came and pushed us forward."

Regarding the missed opportunities, he explained: "I wasted three chances, but I couldn't score. But definitely in the second leg, we all did a great job and we must focus on the second half."

Griezmann concluded his remarks about the second leg by saying: "My great ambition is to reach the final. I have prepared a lot for this match and the second leg, and I hope we can achieve that."
