Wednesday 29-04-2026
Argentinian Julian Alvarez set a remarkable record in the UEFA Champions League by reaching 25 goals in just 41 matches, becoming the fastest Argentine player to reach this number in the history of the tournament.

Statistics indicated that Lionel Messi needed 42 matches to reach the same number of goals, while Aguero scored 25 goals after playing 48 matches.

In addition to this achievement, Alvarez became only the second player in Atletico Madrid's history to score 10 or more goals in a single season in one of the major European competitions, following Colombian Radamel Falcao, who scored 12 goals in the Europa League during the 2011/2012 season.

This achievement comes during the match between Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, held tonight at the Metropolitano Stadium, as part of the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

The first half of the match ended with Arsenal leading by one goal, scored by Viktor Gyökeres from a penalty in the 44th minute.

In the second half, Atletico Madrid managed to equalize when Julian Alvarez scored a penalty goal in the 56th minute, keeping the match balanced with one goal for each team.
