Wednesday 29-04-2026
FIFA announced an increase in the financial distributions allocated to the teams participating in the 2026 World Cup, marking an unprecedented figure in the tournament's history.

The decision was made during a FIFA Council meeting hosted in Vancouver, Canada, one of the host cities for the World Cup, just weeks before the tournament's kickoff, amidst significant commercial growth achieved in recent years.

The council decided to increase the budget allocated to the teams by 15%, reaching $871 million, with preparation allocations for each team rising from $1.5 million to $2.5 million.

The decision also included increasing the qualification bonuses from $9 million to $10 million, in addition to allocating additional support exceeding $16 million to cover delegation expenses, along with increasing the revenue share from ticket sales.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that the federation is experiencing its strongest financial position in history, noting that this step is part of reinvesting resources to support and develop football globally, benefiting the 211 member associations.

It is noted that the Egyptian national team will participate in Group G of the 2026 World Cup, scheduled for June and July next year, alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.
