Inaki Williams announces end of his career with Ghana national team

Inaki Williams, the Athletic Bilbao forward, has announced his decision to end his career with the Ghana national team, after an international journey during which he expressed his great pride in representing the 'Black Stars'.

Williams said in a message posted on his accounts: "I feel that the time has come to end my journey with the Ghana national team. I leave happy, proud, and with inner peace, having given my all every time I wore this shirt."

The Spanish-Ghanaian forward added that representing Ghana has given him more than just an opportunity to play football, explaining: "Ghana has given me so much more than football. It has allowed me to return home, feel closer to my roots, and experience the immense pride that comes from representing my country and wearing this flag on my chest."

Williams has expressed gratitude to everyone who accompanied him during his international journey, stating that Ghana will always be a part of him. He confirmed that he will continue to support the Ghana national team from outside the pitch, before concluding his message with the phrase: "Medas. Always Ghana."

Williams' decision marks the end of a long tenure with the Ghana national team, which he chose to represent despite holding Spanish nationality and having previously participated with Spain's youth teams.
