Press reports revealed that the young star Lamine Yamal, a player for Barcelona, will be prevented from achieving a new record that was previously held by former Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', the injury that Lamine Yamal sustained in the biceps of his left thigh will keep him out of the remaining six matches of the Spanish league, ending his season early.

The report indicated that the young player was experiencing a remarkable period in terms of performance before sustaining this injury, which came at a crucial time in the season.

Lamine Yamal had succeeded in breaking several records previously held by Raul Gonzalez in recent times, including reaching 100 matches in the Spanish league at the age of 18 years and 272 days, surpassing Raul who reached this number in 1997 at the age of 19 years and 284 days.

He also scored 29 goals in the Spanish league, becoming the highest-scoring player in the competition before reaching 19 years old, surpassing Raul's record of 28 goals before the same age.

However, the recent injury prevented him from achieving a new record, which would have been being the highest-scoring 18-year-old player in a single Spanish league season, a record still held by Raul Gonzalez with 19 goals in the 1995/1996 season, while Lamine Yamal's tally stopped at 16 goals in the current season.
