Barcelona Threatens Legal Action Against Florentino Perez Over Offensive Statements

Barcelona Club announced that it has officially filed a reconciliation lawsuit today against Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, following statements he made during a press conference on May 12, in addition to a media interview published the following day.

The Catalan club explained that these statements, according to their description, contained incorrect information and caused damage to the club's reputation and distorted its image in front of public opinion, pointing out that Perez was aware of the inaccuracy of these statements when he made them.

Barcelona added that the lawsuit is part of an initial legal attempt to rectify the situation by requesting reconciliation and giving the other party an opportunity to retract those statements and provide official clarifications regarding them.

The club concluded its statement by affirming that if there is no appropriate response to this lawsuit, it will proceed to file a criminal complaint with the competent judicial authorities to protect its rights and reputation.
