The journalist Gamal Al-Ghandour revealed the behind-the-scenes details of the exclusion of Mahmoud Bentayek, the Zamalek star, from his team's match against Pyramids in the league.

Zamalek secured a 1-0 victory over Pyramids last Thursday evening in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League title decider stage.

Al-Ghandour said on the "Stad Al-Mahwar" program that the player complained of a strain in the adductor muscle before the match against Pyramids, yet he asked Moatamed Gamal to participate in the game.

He added that the Zamalek coach refused to take risks with the player, especially since the team is entering a crucial phase, whether in the league or the Confederation Cup final against USM Alger.

The coaching staff decided to exclude Benteke from the Pyramids match after consulting with the medical team, in order to avoid aggravating his injury and ensure his safety, with thorough examinations being conducted to determine the duration of his absence.
