Shobier: Amin Omar Refuses to Officiate Zamalek vs Pyramids Match
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir confirmed that referee Amin Omar does not wish to officiate the match between Zamalek and Pyramids.
Zamalek will face Pyramids next Thursday in the third round of the title-deciding stage of the Egyptian Premier League.
In a radio statement, Shobeir said: "Zamalek and its fans are not comfortable with Amin Omar, while Oscar Ruiz doesn't care about the comfort of Al Ahly or Zamalek. I think he is technically skilled but administratively lacking."
He added: "Amin Omar does not want to officiate the match between Zamalek and Pyramids and prefers other matches away from controversy, and Zamalek fans reject his presence."
And he continued: "Oscar Ruiz is stubborn, and it's possible that Amin Omar could be appointed, just as everyone was defied and Mahmoud Wafa was appointed for the Al Ahly and Ceramica match despite his return from Libya and not having a full rest."
He concluded: "Oscar Ruiz played a significant role in renewing the contract with the Football Association before the Al Ahly and Ceramica match, and I believe that Amin Omar will not officiate the Zamalek and Pyramids match."
