Silva: I Want to Achieve Titles in My Last Season, and We Achieved an Important Victory
Bernardo Silva, the star of Manchester City, appeared in a press statement following the 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the top match of the 33rd round of the English Premier League, in the encounter that took place at the Etihad Stadium.
The player said in his statement: "This victory is extremely important because it puts us in a position where, if we win our postponed match, we can tie on points. Two weeks ago, this scenario didn't seem likely. I am very happy with us tying on points."
He added about Erling Haaland: "Erling was fantastic today, fighting fiercely for every ball. It's not easy to face two strong central defenders. He fought hard today."
He continued: "We were very good until we made a mistake that changed the course of the match after the 30th minute. The second half was difficult, as it seemed we were controlling the match, but we always felt they were very advanced. Two consecutive clear chances for them... that's how big matches are. Small details make the difference. But overall, we played a good match. I am very proud."
He added: "The season is long. Things did not go as planned in many small details this season. We also missed many opportunities due to bad luck. We could have won many matches. But today, things went in our favor. I am very happy."
Regarding his emotions about it being his last season with the club: "I made the decision a long time ago, so the season was full of emotions because I knew my decision. I just want to end my career with the club on a happy note with titles. I will do my utmost for this club until the end."
