Bernardo Silva Enters Mourinho's Considerations Amid Increasing European Competition

Sunday 07-06-2026
Manchester City's midfielder, the Portuguese Bernardo Silva, has become part of coach José Mourinho's requests, after his name was previously rejected by the club's officials and coaches. This new development might change the course of his future during the transfer window.

The Spanish newspaper 'AS' reported that Bernardo Silva was initially offered to Real Madrid, before the competition shifted more towards Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in recent weeks to acquire his services, being considered one of Manchester City's standout players in recent years.

The newspaper added that the file was presented to Real Madrid's management at a time when Mourinho was not part of the club's future plans. However, the situation later changed, with the Portuguese coach now prioritizing Bernardo Silva, which might bring the player back into the royal club's considerations.

The report indicated that the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, continues to study several offers since it was confirmed that the player would leave Manchester City after nine years with the team, during which he won 20 different titles.

Mendes is moving between clubs with which he has strong relationships, while it seems that Barcelona still holds onto its chance to sign the player, with ongoing talks about Atlético Madrid's desire to acquire him as well, although the final decision has not yet been made.

According to the same source, Bernardo Silva, who is 31 years old, participated in 38 Premier League matches in the 2025/2026 season, with a total of 53 matches in all competitions, during which he scored 3 goals and provided 5 assists, reflecting his continued stable performance.
