Real Madrid announced, through an official medical statement this evening, the details of the health condition of young defender Raúl Asensio, after he was recently taken to the hospital due to suffering from digestive system issues.

The club stated in its announcement: "After our player Raúl Asensio underwent examinations by the Real Madrid medical team, he was diagnosed with bacterial inflammation of the intestines and colon."

He added: "The player is currently at home, undergoing treatment under medical supervision, with continuous monitoring of his health condition's progress."

Asensio was absent from the team's roster in the match against Bayern Munich last week, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, which took place at the Allianz Arena.

The player is expected to remain absent for the upcoming Tuesday match against Deportivo Alavés as part of the Spanish League competition.
