Atletico Madrid Responds to Real Madrid's Statement
Atletico Madrid released an official statement that sparked widespread controversy on its account on the social media platform "X," in response to Real Madrid's statement confirming that they had made an official offer of 150 million euros to sign Julian Alvarez.
Real Madrid stated in their announcement: "After reviewing and evaluating the offer, Atlético Madrid thanked Real Madrid for this offer, which came within the framework of the good relationship between the two clubs. However, Atlético Madrid rejected the offer and demanded the full value of the release clause in the player's contract."
In response, Atlético Madrid replied to Real Madrid's statement via their account on Platform X: "You have edited the video clip of the Pope, where he also mentioned that he is a fan of Atlético Madrid."
He added, "It seems you have confused ethics with gratitude, but to be clear: we do not thank you for anything."
He continued: "We are neither studying nor considering any offer regarding Julian Alvarez."
He concluded: "How can we not be in agreement when you make us laugh even more than Barcelona does?"
