Official: Benfica Announces Mourinho's Departure to Real Madrid and Reveals His Successor

Benfica officially announced the departure of Portuguese coach José Mourinho from his position after receiving an official offer from Real Madrid to sign him for 15 million euros, which the coach accepted.

On the other hand, the Portuguese club announced that an agreement has been reached with coach Marco Silva to take charge of the first team, with a contract extending for two seasons and the possibility of extension until the 2028/2029 season, as part of the club's plan to rebuild the coaching staff.

The statement confirmed that the Benfica management extends its gratitude to Mourinho for the time he spent with the team, wishing him success in his new experience with Real Madrid, while welcoming Marco Silva to lead the sports project in the upcoming phase.

Marco Silva is expected to officially begin his coaching duties in the coming days, in preparation for the start of the new season and to set up the team's training plan.
