Official: Liverpool Announces Details of Ekitike's Injury

Liverpool Football Club announced the details of the injury sustained by French forward Hugo Ekitike during the team's match against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

Ekitike had to leave the pitch on a stretcher during the first half of the match in which Liverpool lost 2-0 to Paris Saint-Germain last Tuesday, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, due to an injury.

Liverpool Football Club issued an official statement today, Thursday, confirming that the player has suffered a serious Achilles tendon tear after undergoing the necessary medical examinations.

The club stated in its announcement: "Liverpool confirms that Hugo Ekitike has suffered a severe Achilles tendon tear, and subsequent medical examinations confirmed the presence of a tear in the Achilles tendon."

He added: "As a result, Ekitike will be absent from the field until the end of the season and will not be able to participate with the French national team in the World Cup this summer."

The club concluded its statement by saying: "Further updates will be provided in due course, and Ekitike has the full support of all members of Liverpool Football Club."
