The European Union Reassures Barcelona About the Condition of Metropolitano Stadium's Pitch

Barcelona received reassurances from the Union of European Football Associations regarding the condition of the Metropolitano Stadium's pitch, ahead of the second leg against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, where officials confirmed that the grass will be handled as needed.

During the training session preceding the anticipated match, German coach Hans Flick expressed his dissatisfaction to the UEFA officials present on the field, due to the condition of the grass, its height, and dryness.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', UEFA officials were present at the stadium as part of the usual organizational meetings held before European matches with representatives of the two clubs, aiming to finalize all the details related to the match.

The newspaper indicated that UEFA's response was reassuring, confirming that the grass would be adjusted and trimmed if necessary, with a clear protocol in place to deal with the pitch's condition, ensuring there was no cause for concern.

The same source explained that the club's sporting director Deco expressed confidence in resolving the issue, as the concern within Barcelona began to gradually diminish with the approach of the match, confirming that the stadium would be in suitable condition for a match of this level.
