The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" revealed that Ferran Torres, the Barcelona forward, succeeded in surpassing the record of the Dutch legend Johan Cruyff, after reaching his 61st goal in the Catalan team's jersey during the recent match against Espanyol.

The newspaper explained that Torres scored two goals in Barcelona's 4-1 victory over Espanyol, regaining his scoring touch after being absent since January 31st, and boosting his chances ahead of the anticipated clash against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

The newspaper added that Torres' goals not only gave him confidence but also placed him on the list of the top 50 scorers in Barcelona's history, surpassing Johan Cruyff, who scored 60 goals in 180 matches, while Torres reached this number in 201 matches.

The newspaper also pointed out that the Barcelona striker has surpassed a number of historical names on the club's top scorers list, including José Bravo with 60 goals, Martí Ventolrà with 60 goals, and Marcial Pina with 61 goals.

Torres is now close to reaching higher ranks in the club's all-time top scorers list, being just one goal away from Vicenç Piera and two goals away from both Chus Pereda and Sagi Barba, as he aims to continue his impressive performance in the coming period.
