Allegri: Changing the Plan is Not the Reason for Our Loss, and Our Champions League Qualification is in Danger
Massimiliano Allegri, the coach of AC Milan, confirmed that his team is going through a difficult phase after losing 3-0 to Udinese in the 32nd round of Serie A, stressing that qualifying for the Champions League has become threatened.
Allegri said: "Changing the plan has nothing to do with the defeat, we are in a tough moment, we have lost 3 of the last 4 matches and have not scored in 4 matches during the second half of the season, and this is unacceptable for a team competing for the top four spots."
He added: "We defended in a disorganized manner because we were hasty, in the second goal we were three against one, we must return to focus and organization because the chances of qualifying are still present."
He continued: "Football is beautiful but harsh, we should not be swept away by what happens, we must regain balance in managing matches."
Regarding the fans' anger, he said: "This is part of football, when you win you are good and when you lose you are not, and the fans had the right to boo."
He also explained: "When you lose the goal of competing for the title, a kind of relaxation happens, but this loss confirmed that our position in the Champions League is in danger."
He concluded: "It is not about a specific player like Rafael Leao, but we have to be better collectively and be patient, especially in the defensive situation."
