Milan Rejects Allegri's Financial Demands to Terminate Contract
The crisis of terminating the contract of Italian coach Massimiliano Allegri with Milan continues to stir controversy in Italy, as both parties have so far failed to reach an agreement that allows the coach to leave the club and start his new adventure with Napoli.
The 'Football Italia' website reported that Milan dismissed Allegri following the team's failure to qualify for the Champions League, and the administrative changes also included the departure of CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada.
Despite his dismissal, Allegri is still under contract with Milan until June 2027, which requires him to reach a mutual termination agreement before taking any new position, foremost among them coaching Napoli.
The 'Calciomercato' website indicated that negotiations stumbled due to Allegri's financial demands, as he requested two million euros for early contract termination, in addition to another three million euros to settle the status of his technical staff.
On the other hand, Milan's owner, Gerry Cardinale, refuses to pay these amounts, considering that the club dismissed the technical staff due to not achieving the required goals and sees no justification for bearing this additional cost.
The report clarified that Napoli's president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has begun to feel frustrated with the ongoing crisis and has set a seven-day deadline to resolve the contract termination issue. The network added that Napoli might consider other coaching names if the crisis is not resolved within the specified period, which could threaten Allegri's chances of leading the team in the upcoming season.
