Arteta: This is What We Missed, and We Took a Hard Hit
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta appeared in press statements following the 2-1 loss against Bournemouth in the 32nd round of the Premier League, at the Emirates Stadium.
The coach said, "A disappointing loss. It's a hard hit, and now we have to deal with it. Bournemouth hasn't lost in the last 11 matches for a good reason; they performed well in many aspects."
He added, "We lacked effectiveness. In the first opportunity they had to attack the penalty area, the ball deflected, a defensive error appeared, and it ended in a goal. This is what we need to recover from."
He continued, "In the second half, we expect a different game. We made many mistakes today, we were consistent in our performance. This is possible, this is football."
Regarding whether the players feel the pain: "A lot. They must feel the pain. They have to accept it with open arms. Either you rise and fight, or you will be eliminated."
He concluded, "It's a decisive week. A lot is at stake. We are still in a good position in both competitions (the league and the Champions League)."
