Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that FC Barcelona has informed the famous agent Jorge Mendes of their desire to keep the Portuguese full-back João Cancelo in the team for the upcoming period.

According to the report, Barcelona's management has already started looking for a suitable solution to retain the player, especially given the coaching staff's conviction of his capabilities and the role he plays with the team.

Romano pointed out that the Catalan club wishes to reach an agreement with Al Hilal to keep Cancelo at Camp Nou, either through a new deal or a transfer arrangement suitable for both parties.

For his part, Cancelo is very happy at Barcelona and prefers to stay with the team, which gives the club's management an additional incentive to try to find a final arrangement to ensure his stay in the coming period.
