Thomas Tuchel has raised doubts about Phil Foden's future with the England national team after hinting at the possibility of his absence from the squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Tuchel said, in statements from Wembley Stadium, that the player delivered an outstanding performance during the training camp, but he failed to translate that performance into matches, despite the high expectations surrounding him.

He explained that Foden has been experiencing a lack of playing time with Manchester City recently, which has affected his readiness, despite performing well in training.

Despite the player being crowned the best player in the English Premier League in 2024, his performance has noticeably declined over the last two seasons, putting him under pressure before the final list is announced.

When asked about the possibility of including players who are not in their best form, Tuchel indicated that it is possible, but he emphasized that there are no guarantees regarding Foden's inclusion in the squad.

The England national team is expected to play a friendly match against New Zealand on June 6, before starting their campaign in the tournament with a match against Croatia on the 17th of the same month.
