Al-Zawraa Management Cancels Fans' Travel to Erbil: What is the Reason?
Monday 30-03-2026
The administrative board of Al-Zawraa Club announced the cancellation of fans' travel to Erbil province to support the team in its anticipated match against Erbil in the twenty-fifth round of the Iraqi Stars League, scheduled at the Franso Hariri Stadium tomorrow, Tuesday, at 3 PM Baghdad time.

The management explained that the decision comes out of concern for the safety of loyal fans and to avoid the difficulties of traveling through checkpoints and roads leading to Erbil, confirming that this measure stems from the club's responsibility towards its audience, which always remains a top priority.

This announcement comes hours before the meeting, which holds significant importance in terms of the standings, as Erbil occupies third place with 50 points, while Al-Zawraa is fifth with 45 points and seeks to achieve a positive result despite the impactful absences in its ranks.

The decision is likely to reduce Al-Zawraa's fan presence in the stands, but the management stressed that the safety of supporters remains a top priority, with an emphasis on continuing communication with the fan base through official channels and supporting the team from Baghdad, hoping to compensate for the absence of fans with a strong performance on the field.
