Mohamed Abdel Jalil: Al-Ahly's Contract with Zizo Was Not Driven by Technical Needs
Mohamed Abdel Jalil, the former Egyptian football star, confirmed that Al Ahly's signing of Ahmed Sayed Zizo led to crises and was not driven by technical needs but rather came as part of the competition with their traditional rival, Zamalek.
Abdel Jalil said in statements on "Mega FM" radio: "Al Ahly's signing of Zizo has caused clear issues in the dressing room."
He added: "Zizo was not the best choice for Al-Ahly due to his high price and the salary he would receive, which would cause significant issues among the players and their salary cap."
He continued: "Al Ahly players have started looking at each other's salaries due to the increase in the salary cap and the signing of players for large sums of money, such as Zizo, Ben Sharqi, and Trezeguet."
He continued: "Al Ahly club signed Zizo to spite Zamalek, not out of technical necessity, as they already had Hussein El Shahat and Trezeguet."
