English Struggle for Paris Saint-Germain Talent
Ibrahim Mbaye, the young Paris Saint-Germain winger, has received increasing interest from Premier League clubs, as his participation with the team has decreased recently.
According to 'Foot Mercato', the 18-year-old player, who stood out at the beginning of the season, began to lose his place gradually after returning from the African Cup of Nations with the Senegal national team, where he participated as a substitute in the final match against Morocco.
Mbaye had scored his first professional goals against Rennes, before providing two assists in the match against Metz in December. However, his situation changed after the continental tournament, as he only played 191 minutes under coach Luis Enrique, appearing as a starter in just two matches, one of which was against Strasbourg where he was substituted at halftime.
The report indicated that the player did not succeed in convincing the technical staff during the opportunities he received, alongside his struggle to regain the rhythm of daily life after a month-long period in the African tournament. The coach preferred to rely on alternative solutions in the match against Nice, giving Mbaye only 15 minutes.
This situation opened the door for interest from English clubs, most notably Aston Villa, which is considering a move to sign him during the upcoming summer transfer window, as he is regarded as one of the most promising talents in Europe.
The player himself is also considering the option of moving to a club that offers more playing time, with several clubs ready to try to convince Paris Saint-Germain to let him go. The French club's stance remains crucial, especially since the player's contract extends until 2028, with a market value estimated at around 25 million euros.
