Mohamed Sobhi Apologizes to Zamalek Fans for His Expulsion Against Otoho
Mohamed Sobhi, the Zamalek goalkeeper, apologized to the White fans after being sent off in today's match against Congolese team Otoho.
Zamalek defeated Otoho 2-1 in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals, advancing the White Knights to the semi-finals. The first leg between the two teams had ended in a 1-1 draw.
Mohamed Sobhi said on Instagram: "Thank God for today's win and reaching the semi-finals. I apologize to the great Zamalek fans, players, and technical staff, as I did not intend to make a mistake in any way. My concern was for the remaining minutes to pass peacefully, but it was God's will."
Sobhi was sent off after hitting an opposing player without the ball following Otoho's goal to narrow the gap, prompting the referee to immediately show the red card.
