Italian coach Massimiliano Allegri spoke about the future of Croatian star Luka Modric with AC Milan, as his contract is set to expire next June, amidst anticipation within the club regarding his final decision.

Allegri confirmed in his statements that Milan's management has not yet opened negotiations with the player, indicating that the final decision rests with Modric himself, with full respect for his wishes and choices at this stage of his career.

The coach said in his statement: "Modric's future? We haven't discussed it yet; the decision is up to Luka, and we are waiting for his stance."

Although formal negotiations have not yet begun, Allegri emphasized AC Milan's desire to retain Modric, given his significant technical value and extensive experience, which represent an important addition both in the locker room and on the field.

The veteran Croatian star joined Milan last summer on a free transfer after leaving Real Madrid.
