Juventus' Goalkeeping Options After Alisson Deal Stalls

Juventus continues its efforts to strengthen the goalkeeping position during the summer transfer window, after failing in its attempts to sign Brazilian Alisson Becker from Liverpool, prompting the club to reopen files on several alternative options.

The newspaper 'Corriere dello Sport' reported that Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has returned to Juventus' list of interests, amid complicated negotiations to sign Alisson, in addition to the difficulties associated with acquiring Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa.

The newspaper noted that negotiations with Tottenham also included discussions about including left-back Destiny Udogie in any potential deal, especially with the possible departure of Andrea Cambiaso from the team.

Similarly, Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea remains on the list of candidates, as Juventus continues to monitor his situation despite the multiple options available, due to the unstable performance of goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio last season, prompting the management to consider a complete restructuring of this position.

The newspaper 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' revealed that Juventus has started exploratory contacts with Milan regarding French goalkeeper Mike Maignan, the team captain, in a surprising move as part of the club's efforts to strengthen the goalkeeping position.

The newspaper added that Maignan's future with Milan is still undecided, especially after the departure of Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri, who played a role in convincing him to renew his contract until 2031.

The report indicated that Juventus' moves in this file are still in the preliminary exploration stage, but they reflect a clear desire to rebuild the goalkeeping position before the new season begins.
