Pyramids Coach's Statements Before Facing Royal Army in the Champions League
The Croatian Krunoslav Jurčić, coach of Pyramids, spoke about his team's upcoming match against the Royal Army in the African Champions League.
Pyramids will face their counterpart, the Royal Army, tomorrow, Saturday, at the Air Defense Stadium in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
During the press conference before the match, Jurčić emphasized that the game against the Royal Army will be difficult.
Yurčić added that despite Pyramids achieving a good result in the first leg in Morocco, with a 1-1 draw, he told the players that Saturday's match is completely separate and should be viewed as if the result is still a goalless draw. It is necessary to win in order to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.
He expressed his pride in the team's qualification to this advanced stage of the strongest African competitions, affirming that reaching the top is a great victory, but maintaining it is the real challenge. He added that the upcoming stage requires doubling efforts to continue the journey towards the title with full determination.
Yurčić emphasized that due to the intense pressure and playing in more than one tournament every two or three days, he is forced to make adjustments in the lineup, changing 4 to 5 players in each match to prevent the players from experiencing extreme fatigue.
The Croatian coach praised the team's star, Fiston Mayele, noting that he and all the team members have given a lot and achieved championships. He trusts all of them and believes that Fiston will return stronger and better with the club in the upcoming period.
