Zico: The World Cup is a Big Dream... Our Goal is to Make Egyptian Fans Happy at the World Cup

Mostafa Ziko, a player for the Egyptian national team and Pyramids FC, expressed his great happiness at being included in the "Pharaohs" squad in preparation for participating in the 2026 World Cup, which kicks off on June 11 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In a television interview on "ON Sport," Zico emphasized that participating in the World Cup represents an exceptional moment in his career, saying: "It's a wonderful feeling for me, of course, to be present at the World Cup, the biggest tournament in football. I am proud to be here, and hopefully, we can achieve something and bring joy to the fans of the Egyptian national team."

The Pyramids player spoke about his first experience under the management of coach Hossam Hassan, noting that he did not feel out of place in the national team camp. He added, "Even though it's my first time with Captain Hossam Hassan, I feel as if I've been with him in every camp since he took charge two years ago."

Zico also revealed the atmosphere inside the Egyptian national team's camp, confirming that there is a sense of harmony and focus among the players. He said, "The atmosphere is great, and all the players like each other. Our goal is unified, which is to present something worthy of the team and bring joy to the Egyptians."

In his speech, the Pyramids player referred to the messages from coach Hossam Hassan during the camp, explaining that he constantly emphasizes the importance of effort and commitment, saying: "Captain Hossam always tells us that those who work hard and exert themselves in training will be the ones present in the matches."

Zico concluded his statements by affirming the Egyptian national team's ambitions in the tournament, emphasizing that the goal is to go as far as possible. He added, "Our goal is big, and we aim to reach the furthest point.
