Goal Visibility Crisis at Camp Nou Sparks Fan Complaints and Proposed Solutions
The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' highlighted a clear crisis at Spotify Camp Nou stadium, related to poor visibility for fans seated in some stands, especially in the first tier behind the goals, where fixed advertisements prevent fans from fully seeing the goal.
The newspaper explained that several members who attended the matches sent photos taken from their seats to prove the problem, with one of the photos taken from row 28 in the Gol Sud stand, the last row in this tier, showing that advertisements block the goal line and the lower part of the posts, while the view is worse in the rest of the seats within the stand.
It pointed out that this problem directly affects the fan experience, as watching goals is the main purpose of attending matches, and not being able to see the goal entirely is unacceptable for fans.
Reportedly, adjusting the slope of the stands is not an option, necessitating the search for alternative solutions. The simplest solution, despite its financial cost, is to completely remove the advertisements from behind the goals, which would permanently solve the problem.
If this option is not feasible, the solution applied in 2015 can be revisited, when the stadium faced the same issue, where television-shaped advertisements blocked the lower part of the goal before their position was adjusted to improve visibility.
The currently proposed solution involves moving the advertisements as far back as possible, close to the stands and away from the goal line, which has previously proven effective in improving the viewing angle for fans.
The report also noted that the current situation has led to the first three rows in the Gol Nord stand not being offered for sale due to the severe visibility issue, reflecting the magnitude of the problem and its direct impact on fan attendance.
