Kroos: Real Madrid's Loss in El Clasico Was Decided, and This is Unacceptable
Former German star Toni Kroos confirmed that internal issues within Real Madrid were the main reason behind the defeat in the Clasico against Barcelona (2-0), noting that the loss was expected even before the match began.
Kroos said, "The result on the field was due to the poor internal conditions within the team."
He added: "Perhaps the players had the motivation to win in the Clasico, but that wasn't enough. The defeat was decided even before the match began."
He continued: "I believe the team would have accepted this result even before the whistle blew. The second half was more balanced, but we didn't score. Quite simply, I say: Congratulations to Barcelona."
He continued regarding the team's second consecutive season without any title: "Going two seasons without winning any title is unacceptable at Real Madrid."
He concluded about Marcus Rashford's goal in the Clasico: "You can't say Courtois could have done more. It was a fantastic strike from a very tight space. I think Courtois took a step towards the far post, but you can't blame him for the goal."
