Joan Laporta, the re-elected president of FC Barcelona, confirmed that the upcoming period may witness a formula for coexistence with Rafael Yuste until the first of July, while also indicating that the club's doors will remain open for Lionel Messi to return and reconnect with Barcelona in the way he desires.

This came during an interview Laporta conducted with TV3 late at night following his clear victory in the club's presidential elections, where he spoke about the key issues he will work on during his new term extending until 2031, in addition to details of the transitional phase in the club's management.

Laporta stated that the official transfer of power with Rafael Yuste, who has held the position of president since the call for elections, will be subject to the club's statutes, confirming his full respect for the regulations.

Laporta said: "I will be very happy and proud if Yuste lifts the Champions League, and I will be where I need to be."

He continued: "If Yuste lifts this championship, it will be very beautiful, he is like a brother to me, and if he wins the league or the Champions League, it will be wonderful."

He added: "We will discuss this matter with Yuste, as he is currently the president because the statutes must be respected, they are the foundation that makes the club work."

He explained: "There is an unprecedented situation, and we will have to deal with it in some way, and there will be formulas to handle this situation."

He continued: "We may coexist until the power is officially transferred, although the signing and final responsibility may remain with Yuste."

He added: "I understand that we will coexist with Yuste because the project is one, which is building the club's future."

Laporta addressed the stance of the competing list during the election campaign, emphasizing that the thought of opposition should come from their side.

He said: "This is something the opposition should think about; when you want to be president, you must be the president for all Barcelona fans, and this is our model."

He added: "Everyone who helped us win this power, as well as the members who supported the other list, will see that we propose what we see as beneficial for Barcelona."

He continued: "The other list sought division and confrontation, so perhaps they should think about this matter."

Laporta also spoke about the possibility of rapprochement with Lionel Messi during his new term, confirming that the Argentine star deserves special recognition within the club.

He said: "From my side, it would be great if we could mend what might have been broken, we have said it before, Leo deserves recognition and a statue as well."

He added: "The statue has great significance because it places Cruyff and Messi in the same status, only the greats have a statue in Camp Nou."

He explained: "Leo will remain connected to Barcelona in the way he wants, he made a decision in these elections, and I respect it, he did what he had to do."

He continued: "The doors of Barcelona are always open for him if he wants to continue strengthening this great institution."

Laporta pointed out his desire for several club legends to remain connected to Barcelona in the coming period.

He said: "I spoke with Eto'o, with Marquez, and with Busquets."

He added: "There are others who surely want to remain connected to Barcelona, like Iniesta, but in a stronger way, not from afar."

He continued: "We are open to seeing how they can be connected to the club after their careers as players."

The Barcelona president talked about the priorities of the upcoming phase within the club, confirming that what has been achieved so far is only the result of organized work.

Laporta said: "What we are doing is not a miracle, even if I studied with priests, but it is good work, these will be the best years of our lives, we will continue to bet on the club's recurring revenues."

He explained: "We want to achieve positive operational results this season, and continue progressing in stadium works, it is important for Deco and his team to work calmly for the next season."
