Haitham Farouk: The Decision of the Egyptian Clubs Association is Unstudied and Inhumane
Haytham Farouk, the former Zamalek star, confirmed that the White team could have won against Otoho in today's match, but the draw is an excellent result given the circumstances.
The match between Zamalek and Congolese team Otoho ended in a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
Farouk added on "beIN Sports" channel: "Zamalek players delivered a good match despite the difficult conditions, such as the unnatural artificial turf and the ball not cooperating with the players."
He continued: "The decision by the Egyptian Clubs Association is ill-considered and inhumane, as the Zamalek team has to play two matches within 72 hours, under conditions of travel and fasting."
Zamalek played against Enppi in the Egyptian Premier League last Wednesday, then traveled to Congo to face Otoho today, Saturday.
