Saturday 14-03-2026
Real Madrid Club announced the medical diagnosis of its French defender Ferland Mendy's injury, which he sustained during the match against Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Mendy was forced to leave the match at halftime after feeling muscle cramps, and subsequent medical examinations confirmed that he was suffering from a muscle injury in the right thigh's biceps femoris muscle.

The club stated that the player will remain under medical observation awaiting the development of his condition. However, he is confirmed to miss the match against Elche on Saturday, Manchester City on Tuesday, and Atletico Madrid on the following Sunday.

According to reports, the French full-back might be away from the field until after the upcoming international break, awaiting his full recovery from the injury.

Mendy had started the Manchester City match as a starter and delivered a strong defensive performance, successfully limiting the threat of the duo Savinho and Simeno, before coach Álvaro Arbeloa had to replace him at halftime with his teammate Fran Garcia.
