Enppi Coach: Club President Keen to Motivate Players and Promised Big Rewards
Ahmed Fathi, the coach of Enppi, spoke about the behind-the-scenes details and secrets that preceded his team's match against Zamalek in the league.
ENPPI defeated Zamalek 1-0 yesterday, Wednesday, in a postponed match from the 15th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
With this positive result, the petroleum team successfully secured its place officially among the top group that will fiercely compete for the league title this season.
Ahmed Fathi said in statements on "On Sport" channel: "Mr. Ayman Al-Sharie, the club's chairman, was keen to hold a special meeting with the players on the night of the Zamalek match. He successfully relieved all psychological pressures from them and promised them substantial financial rewards if they win and secure qualification for the title competition group."
He added, "Since the beginning of our journey in the local league competition, our primary and clear goal was to qualify for the title contention group. We are well aware that all the matches were extremely difficult for us, but thanks to God and everyone's cooperation, we managed to secure victory in the last three encounters and successfully clinched the promotion ticket."
Ahmed Fathi continued: "The penalty missed by player Ahmed Kalusha almost caused us to lose focus completely at a critical moment in the match, but we quickly recovered thanks to the team's cohesion and the high spirit of the players."
The coach concluded his statements by praising his defender and explaining the circumstances of the opponent's penalty kick, saying: "Sabih was one of the best players in the match in terms of performance and tactical commitment. I warned him and talked to him about the penalty kick awarded to Zamalek due to his intervention, and he immediately told me that he never intended to commit the foul. The most important thing in the end is that we achieved our desired goal."
